Song & Stillness: Taizé @ MIT
Sundays, 7:30 pm. MIT Chapel
Come catch your breath and calm your spirit at this simple evening prayer service. Using the music of the Taizé community in France, this 45-minute service includes short readings from Christian scripture, candlelight, meditative singing, and time for silence. Grounded in the contemplative Christian tradition, the service is open to all.
Taizé at MIT will meet on zoom for the month of January, 2022, as MIT cautiously navigates the waters of returning to campus during the omicron surge. We hope to return to our in-person services in the MIT chapel in February.
Epiphany updates: We will be zooming from the chancel steps of St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Marblehead, my home parish, a space that is steeped in the prayers of generations, and graceful visually and acoustically. We will work on some musical creativity, as much as possible over zoom. We've learned a few things about creating harmony on zoom over these many pandemic months!
On January 23, the good folks of UniteBoston will join us for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, a cherished annual occasion which joins the Taizé mission of reconciliation and unity with UniteBoston's mission of bringing the city's Christians together in prayer.
