Song & Stillness: Taizé @ MIT
Sundays, 7:30 pm. MIT Chapel
Come catch your breath and calm your spirit at this simple evening prayer service. Using the music of the Taizé community in France, this 45-minute service includes short readings from Christian scripture, candlelight, meditative singing, and time for silence. Grounded in the contemplative Christian tradition, the service is open to all. In accordance with MIT's policy restricting gatherings at this time, services going forward from January 2021 will be conducted via Zoom Meeting at 7:30 pm ET. We look forward to our return to the MIT chapel when circumstances allow. Pray with the Brothers: (as of Nov 1, 2020) With the Brothers of the Taizé Community once again under lockdown due to an increase in covid, we have the opportunity to join them in virtual prayer every evening. From the Taizé Community facebook page: With several countries again under lockdown, the broadcasting of the Taizé live prayer continues. At midday, the prayer is broadcast in audio from the Church of Reconciliation where the brothers pray behind closed doors. In the evening, in solidarity with all those who pray at home without being able to go to a church, some brothers pray together from a small house and this prayer is broadcast live on video from Monday to Sunday at 8.30pm (CET | UTC+1) with a group of brothers on live video on Taizé’s YouTube channel and Instagram. Prayer is recorded and can be accessed at any time. The Taizé community facebook page has many recorded prayers and bible study commentary, by and with the brothers. https://www.facebook.com/taize
